Hi, I found this advertised in an unusual place so thought I'd share ..
The 6th Annual Antique & Classic Aircraft Fly-In Spectacular is on Sunday 18th March at Hangar 52 Parafield. Aircraft arrive from 10am and you can walk amongst them until the fly out from 3.30.
I went last year and apart from having a good day with the family took a few nice photos but am really looking forward to this year with my new DSLR camera. More info posted at classicjets.com
might see some of you there
Rgds Deb

I am now planning on being there.

Deb - it will be a good opportunity to met you, and also the Family. Can you suggest a meeting place inside/outside the venue and a time

Hi, how about 11 am just inside the entrance to Hangar 52 near where we pay to get in ?
It shouldn't be too hard to recognise a muppet, a lion and a pelican in a crowd of people !
I'll be the middle aged mum with the 6 year old son & husband ! Oh and just so you are sure to recognise me I'll have my camera ..
Seriously .. Im suggesting 11 so it covers both the morning people and the sleep-er-in-ers , and I don't remember the place well enough to suggest anywhere else to meet - I am not even sure of the best photo vantage points as this is my first visit with the intent of taking photos -
more than happy for someone to suggest other ?
I am aiming to be there earler around 9:30 - 10 but with children, traffic and parking it's hard to be positive.
Do we swap mobile numbers, wear red shirts ? silly hats ?? Please let me know the usual routine for meets..  PS if you want some truley unique photos and have $700 to spare I believe you can book a flight in one of the antique planes - too rich for me
 Have fun

Big V says that is his ex wife you talked to and that is a negatively biased view. He says Cathy has offered to give you the real deal... do you want her number?

Well Marvin, I can not add any further comment, as 'Big V' has left the building. I have been sensor cleaning a Canon 30D tonight, did I say a 30D

Leigh - 'Big V' has flaring showing up on his shots when using his Sigma 80-400mm OS towards the 400mm end, when mounted on his 30D, but not the 300D. So I assisted by using a Giotto Rocket Air blower, and cleaning the sensor several times. The results will be known today.

No they wont, when I went to the time trial I was landed with the job of holding each rider at the start, so no shots.. Oh and Lee, I know for a fact your mother brought you up with better morals, she would be sad about you telling lies

I've got a wedding up north on late Sunday, I think I might stop in at Parafield on the way . Due to an unrelated bucks party on Saturday, I'll probably be there around midday or something like that (if I remember to get out of bed ).
Btw Leigh, I suspect you might remember me too..

Ok so I went, I saw, I met....

...then promptly got scared off by your "large and impressive equipment", and my D400 & 300mm and I slinked off into the crowd to blend ..
After a couple of hours and an ice cream later I have photos - I have planes on the ground, planes in the sky, low fly by's and 5 in formation - most are sharp and full frame... I have plenty that will serve as a reminder of the day but before I start slicing and dicing hoping to find (or extract) one a bit better than the rest, I can only ask WHAT SHOULD I  AIM FOR ??
"What makes a good photo from an air show on a overcast day like today ?"
 All hints appreciated
 Rgds Deb

            Hi Deb,
Post your picture and people can help you to decide how to pp it. The guys aren't that scary really. And equipment isn't everything. There has been some great stuff from some not so great equipment! And it would be nice to have another girl in Adelaide to join some meets!
 Cheers,
 Lee

            Thanks for the encouragement !
I concentrated so much on clear crisp shots on an overcast day that I have frozen the props - alas no cat whiskers and lots of not so lovely 'planes on sticks' with insipid overcast skies.
But I am determined that once I know what to aim for things will improve.
I'll look for one with all the bad symptoms and post it (once I work out how to). My goal is to learn the cat whiskers and pan shot by the Barossa Air show in April.

There is a kite show next week and I'll post it as an event separately.

I got called in early to take photos of the wedding, so no free time for the airshow. *argh*.
 Clue via PM.
