A little bit of waterAs the comp is now over I thought I'd get some opinion on a few water shots I was taking. All critique and comment welcome.

Some of these are great, and as I think Paul mentioned earlier.. this is great stock type photography...awesome stuff... can you elaborate a little on the lighting and setup ?
Matt - excellent shots which, IMO, are made even better with the bubble colour contrast at the top of the stem

I love these Matt, when I first saw your entry I actually pegged it as one of Chris' ideas

These are masterful images and show you are really getting the hang of this studio lighting thing. As already mentioned, your choice of a glass with a coloured ball in the stem really rounds out the shot. While these are very good, I have no doubt your entry was the best of these. Peter

Many thanks for the comments everyone.
I agree that the comp entry is a lot stronger than these which are the left overs really. I've taken a pic of these glasses before but never really used the coloured glass to any great effect. I do like the fact that the image seems almost monochromatic without it. Matt
Matt, i like these as well as they look great, only wish we could swap one of these for the POTW photo,
![]() Anyhow back to the serious side of things these are great so now now spill your gutts mate and tell us how you lit these pics up. They are great love them and you could inspire me to try this oneday if i had some decent glassware. The set up is, as always with me, simple. The SB600 is behind and below the glass firing up at the background. Power on the flash is 1/32. Shot in a dark room with camera prefocused - pour the water and trip the shutter. I think the EXIF is about f8 @ 1/250 for most of them. Matt
