Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent. Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature. Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread. Not a bad shot for the overcast conditions, did you up the ISO? I don't care for the black thick border, I think it detracts from the image.
It seems the 500 is a nice lens. Did you use a tripod to steady things? Max President, A.A.A.A.A (Australian Association Against Acronym Abuse)

Thanks guys - I used the lens hand held, so probably not as sharp as it could be.
Zeeke - I have seen images showing the donut shape, but as yet I have not taken one that shows that - but I have only taken a few shots with it. This wasnt a bad article on the mirrors. I love using it as it makes me concentrate on doing things right - like manual focus, steady the shot, right shutter speed etc all at a bargain price of $75 !!! It came with 3 filters too but I havent used them yet either... http://www.bobatkins.com/photography/tu ... irror.html oops there's that damn border again !!! ![]()
