Just discovered a few hundred images I'd missed from our mini outing to Redhead Beach and Awabakal park last Saturday. Below are two favourites and I must say I'm sure glad I found them. Click a pic for a larger version

Edit: Had the EXIF data on the wrong pics. Swapped them around and now they are correct

The first one was certainly worth th amount of effort you put in to getting the shot Peter.
For those who may be intrested, Peter took several shots of the same rock - trying different settings and angles, timings with the waves, etc. This is one of many that worked, but I think is by far the best - and is a ripper :)

I like both of them Peter, they're as different as chalk and cheese but both appeal. Well done. :)

I think these both, my my favourite would be number 1, as its a different perspective and capture to the standard beach photography we see.

One Slime covered rock and surge whitewash, I find it almost poetic :)

Sometimes it is strange to enter critique after so many before have praised #1.

I personally do not find anything in #1 to be excited about. But, #2 is superb. The reflections in the wet sand of the sky compliment this fine sunrise. The colours are emotive and are indicative of a fine and beautiful day ahead :)

Thanks one and all for your comments. For me these are two of my three favourite shots from the outing.

Chris - I'd rather an honest critique than an ego stroke any day. I understand your point about the first one in that it is, after all, just a rock. Were I to choose between these 2 I'd pick the second since the colours are just sublime and I love the way the wet sand mirrors the sky (but I still love #1  )

And a comment on PP - #1 was difficult to get right and I ended up doing this as two layers in PSCS. All except the rock and it's reflection are one layer and therock and reflection are the other layer. With both in the same layer I got blue water and a nice looking rock or white water and brownish moss.

#2 on the other hand is almost straight from the camera (a little contrast was all I did)

The first one really appeals. It's almost difficult to get a sense of perspective on it. Could almost be a tsunami about to hit a big island! Awesome pic.

Thanks Taro

I'd never actually thought about it that way, but you're correct.
