Here are some pics I took during the Awabakal meet near Newcastle on Saturday 19/11. Organised by Radar and attended by Radar, Sheepie, Pipin88 and myself we headed off for a sunrise shoot at Redhead, followed by a delicious brekkie at Radar's place, then a wander through part of the Awabakal reserve. To see a larger version of any of the pics, just click the pic.
Two black & whites to start (24-120VR, 1/640 sec, F8 and 24-120VR, 1/200 sec, F4.5 respectively)
 .....
Two sunrise pics (both 24-120VR, F8. The first at 1/4 sec, second at 1/3 second)
 ...
and finally - one from a little later in the morning
12-24DX, 1/320 sec, F7.1

Peter, another stunning offering, and I look forward to more from you and the other members.
Great to see the lookout tower featuring again, I really like your take on it, you even have a few nice ships to add some background interest.

Very nice Peter,
I like 3 and 4 the most, 4 being the pick of the bunch here for me.
#2 has a nice graphic feel but is similar to your stockton one.
#1 the silhouette is nite and strong but something about the shot seems unbalanced to me. I think becase the ship and the bloke are both on the left third with the incline of the rocks leading up to the left too it makes it feel a bit heavy on the left.
#5 doesn't grab I'm afraid. Colours are nice, and the banding is nice, but overall it is my least fav.

Great stuff Peter, the first one would have been a good candidate for an optical illusion if the the person on the rocks was turned around and made to look like he was pushing the ship.

I do like that ship between the rocks, it's come out well
As usual, the black & whites look really good - you have a real eye for that sort of shot. Not that keen on the last one, but I'm not so happy with mine in the same spot either

Great shots Peter,
#3 and #4 are awesome. The #4 is a classic Redhead photo, I'll have to keep trying to get one like that!! Your B&W really come out great as well. Is that Pippin88 on the rocks?
Really nice to have you over, especially early in the morning.
(Sidenote: Stubbsy is not a morning person )
Cheers,

Hi Peter,
Pretty good bunch! #3 and #4 are superb! #1 is almost there ... Probably horizon going through the man's head disbalance it.

Just before I get some sleep. A reworked version of #1 taking various comments into account:

Peter, #1 through to #4 absolutely awesome. Nice framing, and colours. The "pirate" lookout tower would be my fave, closely followed by the ship between the rocks.

Nice rework, it made me realise it "looks" like the guy has no arms...
Had I known you would go to the trouble of moving stuff around, I would of kept the guy where he was and moved the boat, and the horizon to try to balance it more.... (but that's just me...). Excellent job on the PP though, top notch!

Thank you all for your comments. I'm still playing with the first shot (which features Nick - Pippin88 in silhouette).
