In the Style of Matt.KAfter PP’ing this photo I thought I might try and make a photo a piece of art. Please pull me apart at your leisure

I didn't know noise could be so beautiful. This is superb. You've taken a very good image and created a fantastic work of art. Much better than that Stubbsy one Matt did, but then you started with a better subject ![]() Peter

You disappoint me. I was eagerly awaiting your well considered critique. I'm still waiting, just less eager. Peter

I guess the ease with which we can turn out illustrations and graphics using photographs and Photoshop is one of the miraculous developments for image lovers. I can't help but fiddle with my images and every now and then one works for me. Pointilism was not a French twist on how to construct a modern painting...it was being done by Australian aborigines long before that. I love any attempt to take a photograph out of its comfort zone. It's an added value thing. I think the technique you have used works even better with darker tones and the primary colours. Regards
Matt. K
I think this is a lovely image and the stray petal strikes just the right balance. Is it an agapanthus? Please remove the text and put a border around it and present it as you would a painting if that is what you really were seeking and not trying to get a rise from Matt.

You don't think that, for Peter, you could come up with a more (grape)seedy response? Chris, tell the truth now: you used that $30 P&S camera you bought at Jaycar to make this image, right? ![]() Nice PP work to make it look like a Sigma lens took the image though. g.

I like it as it is Chris. Really nice work my friend you have value added to an image that was great to start with. You have addressed superbly the wannabe artist in all of us

phillipb - the flower shot was not that good
![]() Thanks Matt - let’s just call the French method - micro Pointilism ![]() Dargan - Yes it is a budding Agapanthus. I admire very much the creativity of Matt.K and agree with you on the removal of the text but I very seldom put web pics into borders or frames simply coz I don’t like them. Chris.
My point precisely. ![]() And I agree with you about the borders. I have yet to see any image here that I feel has been improved with the addition of any border. g.

I like these sort of image creations, btw, if the plural of agapanthus agapanthoi? Agapanthai? Agapanthuses?

PP'ing? Or using that ISO setting of 32 million?
Nice work, nice image. I like the original better, and for the arty one, I would have cropped the void to the right, to make a centered image. The photo works well though. Just my opinion. Share what you know, learn what you don't.

Chris I really like this. It reminds me of some work I saw recently which I wanted to try myself. Noise definately has its uses.
