The action pelican is a good capture - nice wingspan, and you can see the feathers nicely spread out. Also you can see the pelican doing a turning manouvre just like a jumbo
![]() The portrait , I feel the dof is a bit too shallow, but the exposure of the feathers is spot on.
OK, thanks for those comments. After looking at the pic, I realised that it would have been nice to have more DOF, but it was a pure lucky shot, and I was happy with how it came out.

You mus show me where you take your pelican picks if it's a lucky shot to get one standing still and dime a dozen to get great pics of one in full flight ![]() ![]() Peter

Plenty of Pelicans that pose for tourists in Batemans Bay, on the main coastal road (1 minute of of the Town proper) on Beach Road is a fish and chips shop. The owner regularly feeds the pelican's and you can get a flock of 20-30 of them coming in to check out the tourists. There's even a a small pull in bay for 2-3 cars to help the traffic flow as it's pretty popular with the tourists.
