Pics of ladies beat pics of horses anyday John! But that's a very nice pic of the horse in action too - I guess you applied the same technique as shooting motorsport but slow down the panning to 1/10th the speed for the horse galloping by.

Terrifically exposed shots John. Fill flash perfect. Horse shot great. Some of those girls must have sent you deaf judging the size of their voices!

Beautiful John, reminds me of derby day
When did you become social photographer. Would you do this fulltime? i think it's worth it.

Wendell, This was different and well i guess it would be ok if you go to some of these events, but i think it would be ok and wlel as close as i was going to get to try some nice pics of girls in the fashion section, although trying to get close enough was a hassle and had to shoot what i could.
Hey i will shoot and try anything and well why not if i was to attend events like this why not take pics, but my first time doing this type shooting and well was for myself so didn't matter. But happy with the pics.

so John your saying you didn't have a press pass and most of those pics are candids from a safe distance, could of fooled me thought you were one of the social photographers covering the event. It reminds me of derby day because it was overcast that day in melbourne and there were lots of pretty girls with matching frocks, i left early to go back to sydney but next year definitely staying around for the whole day. More pics please!

No pp work cos i am too slack so just raw pics to jpgs and here is a few more for you Wendall and yes i had ro stand back in the croud at the fashion on the feilds comp and take what i could.
Bit hard with this shot with 70-200 and too many people for them to step back so took 2 shots.

There you go Wendell few more for you.
This i would be ok at this stuff?? LOL It's Fun, everyone wants you to take pictures of them.

Lovely John. What tone curve preset/s are you using on the D70? Flesh tones are really sweet.

Hi BBJ
Bloody good camera work there! When you can make the girls look as good as the horses then you are doing something right! Er...hang on there a minute...should that be the other way round?
Regards

BBJ,
Watch out! Lisa may kick you out to the dog house if you're continuing to violate the rules by taking lof of pictures of the girls instead of her
Very nice pics and I love the skin tone.

John I thought sydney was the city of vanity, but in melbourne if that's the crowd, is full of vanity too. Social pix is fun!

Wendell, hey just point the camera and most people want there picture taken, 1 of the young single blokes that came over with us was trying to chat up the girls as they walked by but in the end he just said would you have your picture taken with him and well he did get a few.
Was a laugh.

Thats good stuff. Fillies in the field. The colour saturation is very credible. Sharpness, superb. Well done John. At least you don't just shoot motor racing
These shots motor!
Jethro

Very nice shots John. Amazing how well you've done since these photos are so different from what I normally see you photograph. It's great that so many people were so willing to pose for you. I think you've done a brilliant job.
