Paul this is another fine example of why some of us need to be waking up earlier. I really like this one but found the scuff marks in the sand at the bottom a little distracting, I'd try a slight crop at the bottom and see if it helps or detracts from the shot, just my opinion....
Very good capture.......... but the large black border tends to take over, a smaller one would be better as your image would stand out more......

It's very nice but suffers from having an empty foreground. It needs something in that foreground to take it to the next level. Apart from that it is a fine land/waterscape. There are no rules in photography but empty foregrounds come awfully close to be declared a visual element to avoid at all costs.

I love this shot - beautifully exposed and dof. I agree though that the border doesn't do this shot justice - but I love it just the same.

Hey LostDingo, I agree with matt in that the first thing I noticed was the empty foreground. There are a couple of rocks in the image that may have been of good use in the foreground.
Otherwise the light is good and the clouds look terrific. Cheers, Owen.
Totally agree with what Matt and Owen said. A few steps closer to that first rock would of been ideal to have in the bottom section of the image.
Secondly I would of also used a reflector or a torch to put some light onto that dark rock on the left. Besides that this image is sweet! ![]() You could try cropping the sand out to change the foreground to the rock but it wouldn't have the same perspective as if the tripod was moved forward. the bland foreground of this image works, as there is a lot going on in the rest of the image and the foreground helps bring your eye to the busy section of the image as it also helps balance the overall look...... I would like to see a tad more contrast and saturation to add to the mood.........
Cheers ....bp....
