Got a thin skin? Then look elsewhere. Post a link to an image that you've made, and invite others to offer their critiques. Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.
Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.
Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.
Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Being unemployed at the moment, and waking up yesterday to such great blue sky and warmth ! i decided to get my camera gear ready and go to the zoo,,,,wooo hoooo thought i, a day to take some pics relax etc etc, i just about had everything packed when the phone rang,,,,
''Hello Norm, Bill here , i know it's short notice notice but could you take some pics for us today in the yarra valley $200 an hour plus if they are happy there is more work in the future,," well after spending 7 hours in a variety of paddocks i headed for home with over 300 pics of round baling processes etc,
I wonder if it is time to full time professional, I do weddings at the moment mainly by referral but going pro ,,,i dunno
Anyway have included a brief resume of my 300 odd which have been burnt to disk and are already with an arthouse being put to use in brochure's , and the zoo would not have paid me !!!!

Great news on the paid shoot (sounds like a reaonably good rate?), better getting the $'s than a freeby at the zoo...

To pro or not to pro... full time
Money sounds good to me... if only it was like that all the time and consistant.
Did you have free run or were you directed on what to take... apart from the obvious product shots (does that make sense)
D4, D700, plus glass from 14mm to 200mm Gaffa Tape is like the FORCE... it has a Light side, a Dark side and it holds the universe together

Don't know if you made me want my round bails plastic rapped, but you have certainly made a bail of hay look interesting
Great shots particularly the clouds in the second one.
Anytime you can make money from your hobby it has to be good.

Birdy, I was working in local media,,,''was'' being the operative word, my old fashioned/out of date values such as honesty, respect, etc were at odds with managment, i am around your age and have become an intolerant and grumpy old man, so am now looking for a job !!!!!
and have to find one as my lens lust is still very strong !!
