
Took this at Tesselars tulip festival about a week ago, can someone tell me what type of flower this is,
Taken with D2x and 50mm 1.8 @ F11 1/45 sec , w/b auto, natural light,
jpeg/fine.

I really don't know what the flower is perhaps a member of the hibiscus family - the lesser known Hibiscus Chernobylus (only found 200m from the Chernobyl implode). But, nikon boy a lovely crisply rendered image of vibrant colour. I just must have a D2X or the D200 if it's the progeny of the D2X. I have LUST big time.

The leaves are a puzzle cuz I'm not an expert, by any means, but they look very much like a cluster I took at a botanical garden that were labeled as orchids. Actually I didn't take 'em

Ok, I'm no horticulturalist, but I think what you have here is a member of the Rhododendron species (possibly the 'Ben Moseley' hybrid???

I have one in my garden too. I always called it an Azalea but i could be wrong.
