All comes down to money, I preferred the Bokeh of my 1.4 over the 1.8...Creamier and smoother.

If money is not a problem , also check out the Sigma 50 1.4. I jsut sold my Nikon 1.4D adn am going to replace it shortly with a 1.4 AF-s..

Regards
MATT

If it were me, I'd ignore Ken Rockwell and go with the Evaluations By Bjørn Rørslett.

My opinion.

Both are great lenses, so it really comes down to how much you want to spend. Personally I went with the AF-S F/1.4, because I liked the features on it, especially the AF-S focussing.

However, I could have afforded the AF F/1.8 plus another cheap lens for the same money.
