I am planning a weekend in Jervis bay and would love to do some snorkelling. I was wondering if anyone had experience or suggestions?

also somewhat related I was thinking of perhaps gonig for a Guided dive - does anyone know much about diving downt ehre or good guides?

I am planning on getting my diving licence this year (without ever having gone diving  )

Also my work place is strange - it lets me get onto the site but wont display any of the photos :(

Hyams Beach is the only place I have snorkelled in Jervis, it is OK, the spot is on the northern end of the beach, not much surf and easy to get in and out of. Further north like Green Point has some good spots too.

I am sure there are some other users out there who have more info about jervis too.

I have been to Jervis in years, but when I used to go (mostly SCUBA) about the only place worth snorkeling was Green Patch on the southern side of the bay. There used to be a camp site there and you go in just past that.

Snorkelling at Green patch was quite good if you get the right conditions.

SCUBA diving (for trained divers) around Jervis Bay is a lot of fun with some really good spots but I dont know if either of the two dive shops at Huskisson offer the service of introductory (untrained) dives.

I am currently living and working down that way at the moment. I meant to ask a guy at work who dives JB now and then but I forgot. Sorry :( I will try to remember tomorrow and find out the best spots.

I don't want to put you off, but there have been a lot of shark sightings in the bay this summer.

Mozzie, I thought about you today and sought out the chap in question, but he is away all week, I don't know when he will return :(

I will ask him when he returns.

The other alternative is to ring the dive shops in the area and see what they recommend.
