I was lucky enough to attend this years Belgium F1 GP - my fave track. Packed my gear into Mini Trakker AW (thnx Birdy) and met my bro in London, then off to Brussels via the Eurostar (feels funny going from England to Belgium via train...) The track is about a 90min drive from Brussels in some pretty nice country (wish I had time to shoot in and around the track).... anyway here are some picks from the trip.

Suggestions, comments, critiques are always welcome.

Ster - a village about 1km from track. This is where we parked

Sauber in qualifying. I decided to practice my panning. This is definately one of my successes (I think)

....here is another panning shot...this time a Minardi.

Holy shit, another D70users.com member there! I was there too, we should have had a mini-meet!

Where did you watch from? We were seated in the middle of 'Le Raidillon' for Friday (as seating was free then, yay!) until after the 2nd F1 practise session, when we left as it was raining cats and dogs. Saturday and Sunday we were in the middle of Pouhon, looking pretty much straight down the run to the Fagnes chicane. Will try and get some of my pics up too, Spa is such an awesome track to shoot at, 1000 times better than Melbourne! :) Wouldn't have minded a 300 or 400 mm f/2.8 though. ;)

I love the scenery and atmosphere of the 2nd pic

Belgium is such a wonderful place, french culture without the acerbic Parisian attitude

MCWB - Damn ... another chapter for dslrusers could have been written in Belgium :)

We only got there saturday morning and spent most of the time in the grandstand on the way down to Eau Rouge. Friday would have been mad as it was access all areas :( Sounds like you covered most of the circuit. We basically had a walk around saturday but only made it as far as La Source and Raidillon.

All my car shots were aptured using my trusty 70-300ED...and the Kit Lens for the rest. Like u a 300 or 400 f/2.8 would have been nice...

Cant wait to see yor pics. BTW where did you stay while in Belgium?

Wendellt - yeah we had a great time in Belgium. Found a place that had 200 odd Belgian beers on the menu and started from page 1 and made it to page....

Alpha_7....will do and thanks

Aaahhh - Spa Francorchamps... Nothing to compare to it... Little between you and the cars except trees and fresh air... I'm jealous... I haven't been there for about 10 years...

Eau Rouge Race day...very foggy all day but atleast dry where we sat.

Inside the complex. I travelled 1/2 around the world to find that Fosters is the only beer sold inside the track. Needless to say we drank water.

Montoya - this one I photoshopped to give it the panning look
