Nice one but with the second and third image, the food isn't sharp. Not sure if it's the jpeg compression causing it.

Nice shots Redline but IMO it is better to concentrate on the food rather than a setting. Maybe closer to show the detail in the food - mind you they are very nice shots and it’s only my opinion :D

Nice shots, I agree, the second two don't seem as sharp as the first...I might have some lunch now!

Redline, did you get the right side of that last dish in as well? It'd look pretty nice if the image was square and include the rest of the dish.

It looks a bit too soft on my screen as well, probably as you mentioned due to the resize. Did you run USM before or after resizing? Try after if you did.

I think these are great, and IMHO, I don't think the background detracts from the food (sorry Chris!). But then it would depend on what the shoot was for! It actually looks like they are straight out of a Donna Hay magazine, and for first time food shots, they are excellent!

I was trying to curb my chocolate addiction, but now, I'm going to have to find some to eat!

Lunch looks just as delicious!

I think the shots of the angle are too low, the plate is cropped out of the picture which detracts my attention from the actual subject.
Maybe a shot from the top maybe might make it look better i think. good use of DOF and those cookies look damn yummy....

I once shot my lunch, but the duck was a bit gamey for my liking :D
