Nice capture there. Can you try cropping more? Did you capture in raw? I find the flash a tad too strong. Reduce exposure abit and i think the contrast would be better against the dark background. I like the frame within frame composition.

Posted: Wed Jun 15, 2005 4:37 pmReally cute, only criticism is to remove the blades of grass/seed that are across pussies face - a little distracting. I know this would be difficult to do and still capture the moment but I think it would improve the shot.

Here's an altered version that may address some of your suggestions.
I've always used Adobe RGB as my PS colorspace and my pixspot pictures always looked really washed out, so I was trying sRGB for the first time with this picture and the color was better but the highlights blew out. Weird.
Well, here's the new version. It was already a serious crop, but I cropped it a little more and removed the offending grass.

I do prefer the even more heavily cropped version with grass removed, try cloning it out a little harder on the lower third of that exposed ear. Actually, to see it cold - first look one is unlikely to see the artifacts over that ear at all. This shot draws me straight into kittens eyes and then around the frame you have left behind. Thanks for posting this.
