No fence/wires/bars?
It's very nice, looks a little soft around his/her chin though.. or is that just because of the backlighting? PlatinumWeaver / Dean

Steve,
FYI: The link for a larger shot does work. Nice pussytat, don't argue - I do like the shot, just find the sunlight coming from the background on the ears a tad distracting. fozzie
When people ask what equipment I use - I tell them my eyes.
A great image...
1/40th at f3.2 - it must have been pretty dark there... You did a good job with the exposure, but the f3.2 explains why the chin is a little soft... How did you get that close without getting bitten??? Cheers, John

No, I'm just really brave. LOL!!! I shot it in a darkened room through a rather milky looking window with a good B&W C-Polarizer.
The mountain lion was up very close to the glass and in the shade to get out of the heat. So as you noted, the backlighting was quite strong and completely out of my control. I was happy to get as much resolution as I did, all things considered. Hard work pays off in the future. Laziness pays off now.
Heck yeah! I was at the Melbourne Zoo yesterday so I can really empathise with you, I spent 15 minutes waiting for a Mandrill with babies to turn around so I could get a shot, it wouldn't have mattered if there had been strong backlighting.. It is a nice shot. PlatinumWeaver / Dean
