Posted: Fri Apr 22, 2005 8:00 pmThanks Chris, it's not bad as a general lens either, this shot was straight out of the camera, my next door neighbour's dog stuck her head out from under the fence and I just snapped without even looking at the settings.

By 'not ideal', are you saying a tripod is needed
As Chris has said, as you get to know the lens, better and better results will come. If it is of any consolation, this shot is better than I did at the beginning.

Posted: Fri Apr 22, 2005 8:16 pmYes, definetly need to use a tripod with macro, needed more d.o.f. and exposure wasn't quite right, I had to bring it up in PP and whenever you do that, quality suffers.
