At the top of the Fountain of the Fallen Angel in the Retiro Park in Madrid (Spain), you can find the bronze statue of Lucifer by Ricardo Bellver. The sculptor was inspired by John Milton’s Paradise Lost. The work has dramatic appeal, tension, and ambiguity. It is the precise moment of Lucifer’s transformation; when beauty is turning into vice, ugliness, and sin. It is still a polemical subject because it’s possible a satanic tribute, and its sex appeal. It seems it is the only public sculpture dedicated to the devil.
