Bali sunrises

One week away from here and 3,500 posts to read.

Here are a couple of shots from my Bali holiday. Two of them are of the sunrise at Nusa Dua (those of you with an 8 month old baby will understand why I saw the sunrise) and the other one is from the window of the plane flying over the Great Sandy Desert in Oz.

Most of my shots of Bali are family snaps so I won't bore you with those.

By the way, go to Bali, ignore the travel warnings and all the Corby bad press. It really is a lovely place and is very safe.

This was also my first trip shot totally in RAW and processed with RawShooter. I'm a convert now. All those mistaken WB settings corrected immediately and even some underexposed shots fixed totally.

:D

That second one has fantastic color and emotion... The third makes me go WOW... Makes me want to go there...

The colours in the second shot look fantastic. I live the clouds over the outback shot. Really nice. Well done.

Did you use a flash on the second shot? It looks like it. If you did, what kind of flash?

Neeper,

I did use flash, wait for it, onboard!

I tried one without it but I found a little bit of fill just brought out some of the detail. I wonder how the SB800 would have done.

The desert in central Oz amazed me. We must have flown for 2 hours without a road, car, house or any sign of life. Just red dirt... kind of scary really.

Cheers

Love the third shot
I went to Bali last November
Remember looking out the window and realising from just outside of Melb all the way across Aust is so dry - just red dirt
Also remember those cotton wool clouds and their shadows on the red dirt
Going back in June - with my D70 this time

Regards John :)

Amazing shots! They are both great for different reasons.

Yes, australia is very underpopulated. You don't see much when flying over it. And it is also so flat.

A lot different in africa though (where i'm from)
