Yes, nice pix ATJ. But aren't there some artifacts in the skky of the waterfall shot?
Ya gotta stop blinking mate it can’t be good for ya eyes!
I too had no idea what a living cuttlefish looked like. They were just a chalky white shell thing I picked up off the beach and gave to my Grandma for her budgie. Amazing, great photos too! I know nutzinc
That shark is quite interesting with the black background. That cuttlefish is incredibly colourful. I've never seen one that colour before.

The shark came from the first roll of colour film (Kodachrome 64) I ran through my then new Nikonos III. It is dreadfully underexposed, hence the black background, as both the camera and strobe were fully manual and I hadn't yet worked out the required aperture. I did manage to make a good print of that photograph by dodging the light areas.
I have later discovered that sharks in general are hard to expose well when using a strobe because of their coloration. The dorsal surface tends to be dark and the ventral surface very light. ![]() Cuttlefish are related to squid and are essentially a wider less active version.
Yeah, I find that it is difficult to expose sharks properly too, given that
a. I am swimming away from it as fast as possible b. I am screaming uncontrollably, hence unable to request shark to smile c. I am trying not to think of all the pieces of flake I have eaten in case the shark picks up the thoughts OK, to be honest, I don't dive, and the closest I have ever been to a shark (excluding abovementioned flake) was watching Jaws I and II Great shots ATJ, particularly the cuttlefish (which I had always thought were white and hard from experiences with having a budgie when I was a kid) cheers Greg - - - - D200 etc
