Not as intriguing as my recent dragonfly or as cute as my Red-necked Wallaby...

Comments on this shot?

Thanks,
Simon.

You're absolutely right Chris. In fact there's a distinct Mother-in-Law look about her now that you mention it.

Thanks John.
He/she is a regular in the Japanese Garden at the Mt Coot-tha botanical gardens. They're all over the place but I've always found big ones here.

Sounds like a Mt Coot-tha thing - I shot the one in my avatar up there!

Thanks Dee - I did try a few close-up/crop variations but, too be honest, it just kept getting uglier!!

There are heaps of them there and you're pretty well guaranteed a big one or two but just about any creek up here will have them around somewhere.

Really sharp, think it's (I have no idea he/she) got it's eye on ya... If it's a big 'n, I'd be wary

Now just imaging being smaller and seeing that comin' at ya

Cheers,
Mudder

He was over a metre long Andrew. Wouldn't want to share a sleeping bag with him.

Reminds me of whats-his-name....the big lizard that terrorizes Tokyo, Godzilla (strike me pink, me memory's goin'...), yep, that's it, Godzilla. Very different lizard shot and well done, Max

I'd love to Matt but my wife wouldn't let me hang it in the house! She's a bit PHOBIC when it comes to reptiles.
