No empty foreground syndrome seen here. Nice work. Technically superb and ......dare I say it? ....I mean this in the most constructive spirit I can muster.....typical postcard/camera club images of very high quality. You have arrived and now need to take the next step. I would encourage you to become a little more creative, especially with the foreground subjects....and utilise more dramatic lighting and weather in order to achieve master status. Your landscapes are of a 'fine art' quality but you need to push your talents just a little further in order to deliver the viewers that 'knockout blow'. You are so close and the precision of your work is fascinating to see.....and I know where that comes from...but I'd love to see you take some risks with your landscape photography. That's where your suprises will come from. When next do you return to NZ?

Your images are, as usual, very pleasing. I particularly like #2 from this set. There is a great sense of depth coming from the repetition of the foreground object off into the distance.

I tend to agree with Matt K, however, that I think you could do even better. After 11 (great) threads of your photos from New Zealand, the trend I have observed is that you favour a fairly centered composition and take most of your photos in the middle of the day. Clearly, this often works very well for you, but I think some more variation in these elements, especially in lighting (as in trying to take your photos at different times of the day), would lift your images.

Chris I've never thought about it, but you are right - I'm very much a neat and in the middle kinda guy. As for middle of the day - that's probably because I am not a morning person. I'm pretty partial to late afternoon too. By then in NZ we were usually racing to get to our YHA by then before check in closed (the sunset time was pretty late) so less pics at that time. We tried for sunset 3 times and struck out each & every time.
