New DSLRUsers Member - Alexander Robert Anwandter

At 2:42 pm today (05/06/07), my beautiful wife brought our new son, Alexander Anwandter into this world.
Whilst fatherhood hasn't quite hit me yet, I still find the strength of my wife overwhelming. Labor (or labour?) was about 12 hours and all she required was some NOS and a lot of strength and determination, which she had in bucket loads.
Alex weighed in at 3.46kg (7.3 lbs for the oldies) and measured in at 50cm (or 500mm for the tradies).
A big kudos to:
1. Alicia.
2. The midwife at North Shore Private (Margi - spelling may be off). She could coach the Warratahs to a win!
3. The obstetritian.
4. Mothers in general for what they have to go through and what we, as men, will never understand.
Here are some pics (taken with available light which was coming in from the window and required high ISO and wide aperture).
This time, I won't accept any criticism, but I am sure you will understand why
Oh, and top marks to Craig (Alpha7) for guessing my ambiguous clue in another thread.
(The first one was taken with 50 1.8 at 1.8 whilst holding Alex and trying to point the lens in his general direction).
First bath...
And, the view from our room, which I thought made a pretty cool architectural shot, ignoring the reflection and dirt on the window. Click here for a larger view.
