On Monday I took delivery of my new toy: secondhand lens, Nikkor AF-S II 300mm f/2.8 IF ED, and today was my first opportunity to use it.

I think you did the lens proud with this image. Nice sharp focus, interesting subject and nice OOF to boot.

Wow that was quick Fozzie. I've just finished processing my shots...

Sharp foreground and smooth background. Nice shot, nice lens.

Fozzie, that really does show the potential of the lens, I have posted the same shot in mine so that you can compare the 400 5.6 effort with your wonderful result. Nice smooth background - money well spent.
