I have been going through our 3600 photos from our honeymoon on the South Island of NZ last year.

Here are a few I have been playing with:

After playing with the last two in PS, I was happy with the washed out/water colour saturation that resulted - I was also happy with the prints produced.

C&C appreciated.

We had honeymoon on south island this january...spectacular spot. I havent got around to sorting through all our photos yet...have just finished sorting the wedding photos. Doubtful sound was highlight of trip but due to torrential downpour for whole time we were there not many shots came out. I loves SINZ...would move there in a flash.

shot number 3 is my favourite...love the desaturated look.

Given that it has just gone 12 months since we were there, I have been doing a lot of reminiscing - magical place, from the relatively slow pace of ChCh (compared to Sydney), to Kaikoura, Nelson, Franz Josef and Queenstown - I would go back there again in a flash before any other overseas destination (unless, of course, a fully paid 5* trip to Europe was offered).

Totally agree. I also had my honeymoon in South Island, NZ (Dec last year). We didn't get the amazing colours of autumn like in your first photo, but still managed to capture some great memories as it's such a photogenic place. The Franz Josef climb was simply awesome (and we were lucky to go on one of the few days that it didn't rain).

Umm, the leaves were actually very green, but with the help of Adobe, I managed to convert them to a lovely autumnal orange.

We tried three times to get the helicoptor flight to the top of the glacier but cloud cover prevented this - apparently the pilots need to be able to distinguish cloud from ice!

This is one of our shots of Franz Josef:

And Wayne, we had a fantastic honeymoon - I think the only down side was the second night in Nelson as I was denied any pinot noir due to a long (if 5 hours is long) drive the next day!

One from our accomodation in Nelson:

I look forward to the first DSLRUsers meeting on the South Island in autumn one year!

I chose to climb Fox Glacier instead of Franz Josef...it was slighly less steep and the tour went slightly longer for less $$. Next trip (and there will most certainly be one) I will do Franz. Fox was spectacular though, This has motivated me...going to get in and sort my NZ shots out this weekend.

Thanks Wendell - all taken with Nikon - the only MF she had was the Rolleiflex TLR, which we didn't take to NZ.
