After some help from the PP forum, I've about finished this coin. It was a way of rescuing a pretty ordinary and not even well composed or focused shot.

Suggestions for improvement received gratefully. This is the first such full scale processing job I've ever undertaken, and I'm still an absolute novice with CS2, so this was never going to be perfect.

The highest compliment i can offer you is that it looks real. :) Great job. Well done on the difficult PP'ing.

Thanks, I really appreciate it. It has taken about three days so far to get to this stage. I've had a lot of fun, and it has been a great learning experience, making me a more confident with CS2. The final touches included matching the drop shadow angle to the tonal variation of the coin face (I'm still not convinced I've matched it up perfectly).

Out of interest, here is the original shot.
