I think the first one is a little dark for me. Maybe a tweak of the curves is needed.
The second shots is just stunning. Great capture.

I think these are both excellent captures, but somehow I'd like to see #1 in colour

well spotted with the first pic. maybe just increase the brightness so the sky becomes white, then you'll see some nicer line work.

love the vibrancy of the 2nd pic. not too overdone with the saturation.

Did'nt take a colour image of the dome i took it in black and white on the camera.
