Fantastic image Michael! Congrats!
One thing that is a little noticeable in this is why on earth they didn't move the whole title up so it didn't interrupt it's left ear and then u could see the full word 'magazine'. Just a little thing. None the less a great shot - well done!

Thanks for positive comments, Geoff and Bugeyes
Geoff - I agree with your comment re. layout but this designer tends to use part of the critter and overlay it onto title mast. Just her style, really.

Great shot Michael - the way the designer has brought the ears forward over the masthead is to give the pic a more dimensional look and is something that I have done a lot

I agree with Chris. It pops the rat off the page. An old trick.

Great shot Michael,
I can see why they picked it. I'm sure quolls are not easy to capture so well on photos.
Cheers,
André

Congratulations. How many covers do you have under your belt now? It must always feel good to nail a cover.

Great news!! And what a great shot too. I'd love one of those fellas as a pet

Better than a cat or a dog and if it decides to leave home, who cares, it's native.

Well done, getting a cover shot is fantastic, and rightly so. Top image.
My mate studied these for NPWS as part of his doctorate, he would have killed for a shot like this, his were crap

Well done Michael, congrats on the cover. It's been a while, I hope your absence just means you've been too busy shooting, to be in here posting

Hi Raskill,
Did your mate study this particular quoll?
There are 4 types of quoll in this country and unfortunately this guy, the Northern Quoll, is found in the Northern Territory and their numbers have been decimated by Cane Toads. They have become endangered in just a couple of years. Let's hope something is done to eradicate the toads.
Cheers
Michael
