hell type of Bromeliad is this?

Haven't seen one this big before. Have heaps in our garden but they are all quite small by comparison. These were 6' tall and the flowers would have been 1/2 that in length.

Both shots taken with D70s and 18-200VR

Mark that first image is spectacular. Would make a good stock shot.

first shot is great- indeed it does have very nice colour and is quite sharp.
maybe for stock purposes you might want to clean out the spiderwebs (or whatever they are inside the flower)
