Spent last week in Sydney, even met up for the Sydney Meet on Friday night (the asian guy in the front Row in Yips thread). Very valuable experience shooting in a foreign city seeing things behind a lens all the time, spent most days out early and heading back after sunset trudging around the CBD, Newtown, Bondi Junction and around the train stations. Took home ~1106 photos, just had the chance to process about 80ish shots from the first 3 days so far.

Definitely a big focus on street stuff while I was there, hopefully will have the chance to put together some Panos later when I have time this weekend. Cutting down an entire week into a 6 photo post pains me but nevertheless; some images

C&C welcome, really love going to Sydney Kudos if the locals can identify the locations, Id love to know where #3 actually was...

That second photo is absolutely perfect to me. so many different personalities and contrasting people all at the same place, you've captured it perfectly.

Nice shots, especially 2-5. What processing do you do to get colours like in 2 & 3? It's very similar to the "One Way" one that you submitted to my site as well as a lot of the other urban colour collection.

I thought number 2 was cool. Could just about imagine the wind whooshing through the tunnels before the train. It really captures the moment.

And I think shot 6 is awesome. I love the colours of the sunset (it is sunset right ...), the hustle and bustle of city life rushing past..

The third one is the only one that doesn't work IMO .

I'm impressed, especially the last one. The colours there are nice, and the big ugly traffic light works surprisingly well.

Ronza it was a pleasure meeting you, but even better seeing these results, awesome stuff. Did anyone have issues with their photos being taken ? #2 and #4 are awesome.

#2-3 and 5-6 for me. Very nice series. Great use of dark/light contrast and some longer shutter speeds.

The first seems a bit too yellow for me, and I'm distracted in the 4th by Apple Man's expression - you were sprung...!

Love the series and the treatment you gave them. No. 2 is the standout for me.

They are very good! I especially like the 2nd and the last one! ah! So nice!

I love them all, but especially no 1-4. They just scream RONZA to me.
For some reason in my head your name is associated with that shot with a blurry woman walking under an arrow sign in it and these shots reminds me alot of that photo, probably because of the signature PP style.

Heck of a lot of contrast in the RAW conversion and often some slight desaturation. Alot of the times, the colours are an attempt to replicate film types and move slightly away from the cleanliness of digitial files.

Appreciate the comments all round, can't wait to get some more time behind the camera again and will definitely have to return to Sydney next holidays.

Sydney through your eyes looks different! Nice work!

Cool urban captures, there are all very good and demonstrate a good eye for the unexpected but if I had to choose, number 4 would be the one for the contrast in expression between the two occupants in the seat, "one caught mid-laughter in conversation and the other mid-chew with a puzzled gotacha look =)

Ronza - hmm, took me awhile to realise that you're the same Ronza as on OCAU, who organised those terrorist photographer t-shirts, one of which I have.

Hope you enjoyed your visit to Sydney. Your train station shots in/around Central are inspiring. I guess it's that daring spirit for street candids that I admire about them - lacking the guts to shoot them myself.

Outstanding images of which the first 2 are far and away the best for me.

Great 'Grunge' shots Ronza. My pick is #2 great feel. Love the static figures counterbalanced with the moving train. Lovely. I'd be tempted to clone out distracting crumpled rubbish at the feet of Mr Cuba.

i know where all the places are in the shots except for 3 and 5... *scratches head*

sydney does indeed look alot better from your perspective!
the exaggerated green tinge in the first shot creates a nice mood

haha oh and about that apple eater and the cuba man and the others in that shot.. did you talk to them before or just snapped them? tough skinned man you are!
