Despite my best intentions to avoid work on a recent trip to NY I only managed to find 1 hour to walk around times square a couple of times.

Nothing special but here you go.

For some reason this first one reminded me of the move Blade Runner

You can satisfy any fantasy in NY

And I mean any fantasy

Architecture is always a highlight (even at ISO1600)

All taken on the 50mm 1.8 taken generally at high ISO with no flash.

Well Jonesy. What an interesting and varied group of pics. The architecture shot leaps out at me, but I think there's more depth to some of the others since they tell interesting stories - especially the last pic.

Jonesy, you're making me miss my favourite city in the world... ;)

I'm surprised you took em with a 1.8 at high ISO - the center of the universe is lit up so bright, exposures are like daylight.

Thanks for your comments guys. All shots except the last one were taken at ISO > 1000 with the building at 1600. I was very impressed with the results and I didn't apply much noise reduction at all.

It was actually quite a dark night but Times Sq is so bright that at times it did feel like late afternoon. All shots were at f2.8 which is kind of a sweet spot for the 50mm in low light.

Given more time I would have liked to get more people shots (like Jaco does).

Jonesy, the shot of the building fairly leaps out at you, great. An interesting insight into your physche that one of your fantasies involves some sort of strawberry cake
