Hi everyone,

I finally managed to get myself a sparingly used second hand Nikon D70. Could not resist the price, and hence decided to get it. Moving up from the Canon A85 point and shoot, it is a pleasure.

Puts the fun back into Photography these DSLRs. Still love my FM3A though.

Here are a few pics from Wanda Sand Hills - Cronulla. Should probably look it up as a location for a mini meet if it has not already been done.

Congrats on the new aquisition, Nosh, you'll have a lot of fun with it. The pics are good but not so keen on the last one, I feel there is too much 'foreground'. What lens were you using?

Nosh, you ain't a stranger to photography are ya?! As the first and second shots proves - beautfilly exposed in the first (if a little 'thirdsy' for my tastes), and wonderful contrast in the second.

Bee/flower shot - a touch overexposed IMHO, the yellow looks to be just blown.

Wow, some great shots there... 1st and 2nd are definately my favorites, though I would have liked to see a bit more of that pretty blue water spot in #2.

Great job, enjoy the D70!

Having seen the quality of your older work I can't wait to see what you do with your new toy. For me shots 2 and 3 stand out here because they are both compositionally interesting and well exposed. The last two OTOH are a tad dark to me.

Welcome to the fold Nosh. #3 is compositionally good and KISS principal really adds interest. I think you missed the compositional opportunity to turn the runner and the dog up the sand dune into the interest proffered by #3. Bee and flower as Onyx mentioned is a tad overexposed but well composed. Nice images and you will now experience the world of the D70. :)
cheers

Nice images here Nosh, the SLR is a definite step up from point and shoot with the excellent 18-70 lens. Look forward to seeing more beauties like these.
