Pelicans from Port Stephens

Last thread from the weekend - promise ;) - it just makes sense to split this weekend into three seperate threads, as they are quite diverse subjects :)

These are Pelicans!

Sheepie!! That last sentence just blew up my brain!! Great pics. I'm amazed how close you can get to these fellas!!

Great shots Leon. Where are the rest!

These are very tame pelicans and if you walk slow you can get so close you could almost touch them. They hang around an area where sinks have been set up for fisherman to scale and clean their catch and feed on the scraps so they are very used to people. Sadly I decide not to take my camera with me when we went there on Sunday so these excellent pics will have to do me (I know WHAT WAS I THINKING :shock: )

Very colourful and sharp Sheepie. I like the shot of the one preening itself nice perspective.

Love the second one preening - the colours on the eye, edge of the beak and the pouch are just perfect renditions of 'natures colours'.

One suggestion would be remove the tree background, and go for pure blue sky :)
