Nice shots !!!

If you are interested (and tough if you're not ;) ) it is Cyclochila australasiae, common name the greengrocer (sometimes, they are brown, yellow, or turquoise in colour).

If anyone is interested in some more information on this species, and to hear the call, go to http://152.98.200.7/ins-info/Cyc.htm

This site is brilliant, and if you go back to the original page http://152.98.200.7/ins-info/ , you can look up information on a whole host of cicadas, their distribution, biology and calls.

And yes, I know I need to get a life :)

Thanks Greg, and everybody else. I think it was scared stiff the cat was going to eat it, so it just stayed in the plant. Quite good of it really. The el'cheapo 40-150 lens is not bad value for $ and matched to a 25mm ext tube makes a good macro/close-up set.
