Ant working

I guess ants are always working, little troopers that they are. I
hate 'em - turn your back for five minutes and they want to take
over your house. Eternal vigilance is the only defence.

As an observation - this one has a hairy arse. Given the ants'
legendary lack of individuality, I assume that they all do.

Greg - great macro shot. If the ant had been aware of your stealth photographic methodology he might have wipe his arse

Incredible shot!

Not a very polite ant though, it does need to shave its ar@e before going out in public

Thanks for the comments.

The lens is the Nikkor 105 micro - really a great lens. Hand held using manual focus, and the SB800 to keep the shutter speed up.

Taken at Wattle Park very near our place, there was a largish bullant nest, and they were carrying stuff out and generally being very industrious.

darb, not much chance to get a side shot, in fact it was hard enough getting this one! But I agree that a side shot would be worthwhile, maybe next time.
