Hadnt picked up the camera all day so decided to snap off a few shots before a possible storm hit the coast... ventured out into the greenery which is showing up as an awesome area to find insects to wack infront of the 90mm tamron macro lens... i had just followed a butterfly out (no pics... quick lil bugger) and then i turned around looking at a mass of roots from a hanging orchid... to see one out of place.. on closer inspection there was a web casting spider hanging there waiting for some poor unsuspecting insect to wander stupidly under his net... so i got some pics of him while he was being a perfect
model... still! heheh

mighty creepy looking thing. Love to see photography of one of these in the act of capturing prey. You'd want a D2X to keep up with the speed of the leap and wrap of the victim though.
No flash used?

Cool shot Tim.
Try putting a piece of fish or meat under him to attract flys.
For butterflies just use my Baygon and super-glue method.

Tim , thats some sort of freaky spider there. Never seen anything like that before, but it can stay there with you.

We know you like glue Dug.. i remember you mentioning it for photos of cats...
If its still hanging around tomorrow... ill consider baiting it... with a fly or something.. just hope the D70 is upto the speed
