Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.
Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.
Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.
Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

I went out driving the new car along many a dirt road trying to find a hidden away creek, however I got lost and couldn't find my way. Here are some shots I got on the way home.
These were taken with the Tokina 12-24 with the UV filter off. After reading an article the other day I thought I'd give it a shot without the filter and the images seem very sharp out of the camera.
All taken in RAW at ISO200 and I think f/11 for all 3 images.

Something magic going on with no 1. But maybe a tighter crop would help...that bush on the extreme right could go, perhaps.

#1 is a beautiful rendition of a contra jour shot but with enough detail to make it mesmerising - guess what? I like

Wow Owen - nice work.
I too like #1 the most. I also think if you crop a bit of sky out it'd be magical, well..more magical than it is already!
Well done!

Owen - I would not crop any of this pic simply because you would lose the most important aspect - the space/object relationship. By having a large amount of sky you show just how small we all are in this cosmos

ditto!ditto! Well said Chris, exactly what I was thinking. What do they say about great minds?
Anyway the sky area will provide the necessary title space etc for the Shrek movie
cheers

Hi Owen
You should 'get lost' more often. Inspiring shots. Well done.
