first impressions?

what are your first impressions of this photo? before you look at in more detail and all, i want to know what are your initial impression when u first lay your eyes on the image? just want different types of thoughts on this one, for someting different. i know it has a lot of OOF area on it, but i dont mind that.

When I first look at it I noticed the red OOF area. Then I was searching for anything that was in focus and noticed a tiny bit of the white petals. I'm not sure if this is what you were tryin to achieve or not, but it's what I did first.

The first impression i got was the contrast of colours. Then my eyes wandered all over the photograph but predominantly in the white area.

I think you have to search too much for its meaning. This kind of photo should jump out and bite you on the nose. I think if the petal on the left had more definiton and was bigger and finely in focus, this could have worked.
Apart from all that, well done.

they were the kind of comments i was looking for, thanks guys! i think that was the very first photo i had taken with the D50. i had never really thought about posting it, because of all the OOF, but was a bit bored so why not.

My first impression was it was taken with my 24-120 VR
