Colour or B&W.....

A shot of one of the most beautiful cars ever made.
Two versions, one colour and a simple b&w conversion.
Which do you prefer...???

The colour is un-touched, although I believe its not an original red....

And the b&w conversion, I think it lacks 'punch'....

Marty - a classic such as this E-type always looks good in colour IMO.

Yeah, I love the colour shot of the E-type.
But I think the red is just too red....
Looks more like a modern colour paint.
Maybe I can tone dwon in Photoshop.
Thanks guys

To be honest I wouldn't countenance a B & W conversion on such a strong colour image, but here's a quick one from me. Try this in PS CS:

- Shadow Highlight adjustment - Shadow 100, Highlight 10
- Split channels (right click the little triangle in the channels palette and choose from the menu that pops up)
- You now have separate B & W's based on the Red, Green and Blue channels. Pick the one you like best and play with brightness and contrast

For me the _B version looks best.
