...and for those who don't mind postcard photos of one of the world's most photographed landmarks... from the same viewpoint as about 90% of the other photos of this landmark, I present this:

Look, we were there. IT was there, what was I supposed to do? :)

You could've used the IR filter, turned it to black and white with heavy contrast OR made it really blurry.

But that's what I'd have done.

Otherwise, great shot. :D

Chris! What are you doing in here!

Thanks for the compliment though, it means a lot coming from you... hehe. I know what you think about these sorts of photos.

Dave, thankyou very much, I'm glad you like it. :)

At least you've got some great landmarks down there..... I'd be photographing the crap out of them if I lived in Sydney!

All we've got up here are parrots and the occasional visiting Airbus, or maybe you hadn't noticed...

Nice shots (both of them) Potatis.

Doug - the B&W treatment is superb - makes it look just like an old acid wash :D

Thanks everyone for your comments, I appreciate them. :) Now I'm interested to see what acid washed photos look like. :D

The settings for the shot were very standard. Kit lens, which always does the job for me, F/8 for 8 seconds, ISO 200. Benro tripod, and Photoshop CS2. I used Fred Miranda's Velvia Pro plugin for the colour photo, and used anything I could find in Photoshop for the BW job. :)

Nice shot Doug and I like both versions. I personally don't see a problem taking this shot, once you get your shot you move on to something else, just because it's the subject of others photo's and countless postcards shouldn't stop you getting your "own" version. :) Well done.

Hi Craig, Thanks for your comment. :) Nobody was stopping me taking the shot, I was just having fun with Chris who I know is tired of cliched photos. I don't blame him. :) My subject line was just for a laugh and I'll always photograph what I like. :)

Good to hear, then post some more images  ... this is my third Night shoot I've had to miss, so I want as many ideas as I can get for when I get my tripod (hehehe).

Yes Dear.

(Thanks Birddog... shh! The cheque's in the mail. :D )

LostDingo, thanks for your comment. I was really hoping you'd be at the night shoot, but knew you were on call. We'll get an early morning shoot organised at the Northern Beaches. That'd be fun. :)
