By mistake I had left the setting at iso 800, but I am surprised it does not show.

you wouldn't know it was iso 800 by viewing, maybe you should have more "accidental settings"
Looks pretty good and no noticeable noise, real testament to the D70s ability

Some of my best shots have been accidents

Gerard - a nice capture but don’t worry about iso - if the shot is exposed correctly noise will not be a problem. Kerry Pierce has taken some cracker shots at 1600iso

Surprising info this and tremendous clear shot, it's a great camera is the D70.

You are right Chris, correct exposure is paramount. I was looking at a serie of pictures I took in Wollongong (all at iso 800) and they are all sharp. Although they were taken with the 28-70, I think the extra speed may have contributed to less camera shake. Could that be right? Thanks all for commenting.
