After a hectic week of exams here at uni, it was randomly decided that a trip to Batemans Bay was in order. :) Needless to say, I took the camera, and these are some of the better shots:

You can also find EXIF displayed on the photos at that link.

Please tell me what you think / how they can be improved. :)

Hi Tristan,

Sorry to be picky but as I grew up in Batemans Bay, I thought I'd point out the lack of apostrophe and also that your missing the Bay. Other then that these are some nice shots, and a reminder I haven't visited my parents since May (naughty naughty).

I'm heading over to look at your other shots, did you get any of the local Pelicans ?

#1 I like the treatment, gives it a nice historic feel

#2 Nice shot, but I think I would of shifted the focus in this shot and got the leading seagulls a little sharper and had the rest retreating into OOF area (does that make sense?)

#3 I'm not sure I like the B&W in this one, or maybe it just needs to be a little punchier... I'd try fiddling with the levels .. maybe have try the affect Leigh and Stubbsy created early this week ?

Edit : to add more feedback

Pickiness Accepted. :) :D

I didn't get any of the local pelicans, no. I did see plenty of them though. :D

Thanks for the comments, looking back now I would have liked more DOF in the Important Meeting, but I didn't think of it at the time.

I have redone the conversion of the third one, as I wasn't quite happy with it either. Do you think this is any better?

Thanks for your comments so far,

Edit: Respond to more feedback. :)

BUMP! :D

Anyone got anything else to say? Or are just that good that they leave people speechless.

I really would like a bit of criticism on these, just that I tried out the aged photo look. Does it work or not? :D

Tristan,

I find one is a bit too far for me but I like where you are going, probably just a few steps before here :)

Like the meeting a lot, best of the lot for me.

Focal point seems to be the individual pier for the wharf, seems unbalanced to me, I think I would have preferred it taken at railing level, with the eye running down the railing on the left of the photo past the seagulls to reach the pelican, with the water below and black bird as counterpoints.

Then again my ideas are just ideas and these images here may be the best way, who knows
