Some more images taken in a swamp outside Brisbane on the weekend. Some areas of blown highlights but the harsh light of around 2:30pm made lighting difficult :( but did manage to get some nice backlit shots with the help of a little SB800 Fill flash.
Oh what I would have given for a better beamer on the day. Must get a hold of one. :( Get ready Birdy!
3 Intermediate Egrets moments before their procreation impulses grabbed them. http://www.dslrusers.net/viewtopic.php?p=133490#133490

The Intermediate Egret Portrait with nice backlighting. I like this one eventhough it could have paid me the courtesy of strtching its neck out a little more and looking at me rather than glancing

Any critique on the photos would be appreciated.

Marco - I really like these shots. I've never seen them with such a brilliant green tinge around the eye before - breeding colours... beautiful.
Congrats
Rel

hope the tripod turns up soon

Can not say anything critical about them - I like them all. Second photo might be a bit better if you crop it tighter but I'm not sure about it

Thanks for the kind remarks. It was my first attempt at these birds. Their rookery was a great place to have close by, as long as you could bear the mossies and smell. It was only 10 mins from where i was staying in Brisbane.

After staring at your frames for a few minutes, I finally got around to checking out the birds. Very nice. The frames are a little too much though. Of course that's my own opinion.

Very nice. The 3rd one with fill in is great. Love the green tinge around the eyes. :D

Dave I wanted to try the frame action I got from Kevin here at DSLR users. Great action even if it may be less than appropriate for the subject it cradles.
Thank slider I was happy with the SB800 fill flash settings I used. Will know what to do next time if there is a next time. :)
cheers
