Old outhouse

G'day,

Was just playing with an image from the drive up to the Grampians where I noticed what looked like an old outhouse in a paddock, so I couldn't resist... Jumped the fence and took a couple of pics... Had a play in PP, wanted to see what you thought and get any advice/tips/ideas etc...

Just lab/lightness channel (for B&W), back to RGB and colorised, then just a gaussian blur vignette (which looking at it now, the starting edge of the blur is too sharp, it doesn't start blurring gently enough)...

EDIT: Version 2 (ooops, stuffed up on the hue, but never mind, tis just a play :) )... Softer blur...

I like the subject, colour treatment and composition. Not too sure about the blur.

Yeah, not sure about the blur, I think I just blurred too much (about 7-8 pixels), the selection was feathered by 250 pixels, think I'll do the blurred vignette using a soft mask instead...

I'll be back!

Mudder - I like the whole thing - I feel the blur draws you more to the crapper....

You could also try duplicating the Background later, applying a Gaussian blur to that, then adjusting the opacity of that layer to suit...creates a nice soft focus effect..
