Yep- the Indian Mynah :) Everyone else is posting birds - had to join in ;)
For such a sh*t of a bird, they are actually pretty attractive ! If only they weren't here.... I know it's not a great shot, but it's not an insect

I love the way you've composed this one Narelle - it's looking like another cover shot..... :)

I know you wouldn't be 100% happy with it but it's a lovely shot, particularly with that almost regal stance the bird's in.

Perhaps some shadow/highlight adjustment to lighten up those dark areas? (Here's me suggesting to you what should be done to an image! Geez!

Thanks Mikhail & Manta :) I agree Mikhail - they are a commical bird. At the moment, we have nesting mynahs, a pair of magpie larks, a pair of crows and willy-wagtails in/around our backyard. And the visiting possums bub is just about to come out of the pouch - feel like I'm living in kindy surrounded by babies :)

Manta - good suggestion - I'll have a go :? You'll have to come over and give me a lesson as well as Michael :)

Thanks again guys
Sooner or later I'll get a good bird shot

Blacknstormy - I need your expertise to identify the insect in this shot:

Little unknown red insect.

Great shot. This is definitely the most 'regal' looking Mynah, I've ever seen. In Koh Tao, Thailand, they seem to be the only kind of bird there. They also seem to mimic loads of different kinds of birds that I've heard before.

not fond of indian mynas but they make good subjects for birding practice though.

They look quite regal too.

This is a nice birdy shot too. The grey background helps this shot in my opinion.

Ideal cover shot, sharp as, great seperation from the background and nicely framed, looks great.
