Quite a rare sight these days - but Coogee would be as likely a spot as any to see a nun.

Cheers,

Nice series Jeko70 . In the first one the nun seems like a ghost figure . The B&W works well for that shot .

Being at Coogee i'm guessing she may have been there to check out the Virgin Mary fence post . Long story about a fence post at Coogee that looks like the Virgin Mary when viewed from a certain angle . Makes perfect sense of course .:?:

I didn't know that....next time!

but Coogee would be as likely a spot as any to see a nun

You know, I don't care about Monks and Nuns, I'm from Rome......
But she looks really freaky ,no an expression from her face!

Father ,son and the holy post .

Sydney Morning Herald
[Hundreds of believers flocked to the Coogee Beach headland yesterday to witness what they say is an apparition of the Virgin Mary.

Scores more hiked up the cliff path to touch, kiss and pray to the post which over the past few days has been transformed into something of a shrine, with pictures of the virgin, rosary beads and flowers piled around the white-washed fence.

Some wept, others sang, most prayed. As the sunlight reflected off a crook in the fence throughout the afternoon, hundreds claimed they could discern the shape of a veiled figure, and most agreed it was "Our Lady".

Understandably, the Catholic Church appears less keen to make that conclusion.

Jeko - I love the first image, probably because it's B&W but I think it evokes a lot of thought from the person looking at the image...it's powerful. One of those one's you'd see at a gallery and ponder over for a while. Well done :)

That fence post is long-gone...
When the local council didn't take action, local residents did and the offending section of fence was demolished during the night... The "pilgrims" were causing so many parking and traffic problems that it became unbearable.
The council rebuilt the fence in such a way that the "apparition" didn't appear any more...

Fab

A great set of captures, but the first one is the star. I agree with Geoff - it really bears some scrutiny.

Thanks Geoff and Stubbsy,
You Get it!
The picture is, for me, just the first one, that one B&W!
Posting others pictures was to minimize the impact!

Love the series Jeko you nun stalker you :p

The first, second and last ones have more of an impact in terms of the messages it puts out IMHO. Great stuff.
