Tesselar Tulip Festival - Bathed in Color

After quite a few exhaustive weeks sorting my images out, I've finally got around to post processing my photos from the Tesselar Tulip Festival. I went up with some family friends in the last week of the festival and it was a bit disappointing near the entrance as a lot of the beds of flowers were dead (should of had a discount!). Anyway it improved as we got down to the fields
The sun was out and I had to make do without a tripod for the morning. I ended up using my kit lens as I wanted to get up close and wide.
Enjoy.

Nope, it was packed. Just chose angles and kept people to the edges of the frame. Few got into the viewfinder and had to crop out about 100px around the edge but most of the image was people free :)

very nice work darryl
I like the way you get down low and frame the shots with close foreground interest and then knock it off with shallow depth of field and focus in the middle with background elements like peopleand or gazebo in the background.

Darryl, these are very good pictures for flowers to be nice and bright and a good day too helps along way but i they are all great, the 1 i liked only because it had dutch style windmil in the background, i think it gave it that kind of look that when i was younger seeing shows on tv where they showed lots of this type fields with the windmills and alway thought it made the picsture, as i am not a flower person.
Well done mate.

I would of liked to have got a shot with a Dutch Windmill with tulips with a fairly flat ground and blue sky above the horizon. But given the terrain and position of the windmill it made it fairly impossible to achieve that sort of shot.

I guess I'll have to go to the real thing in Holland :)
