Back from three weeks work in South Africa.
I had the chance to use the Nikor 10.5 mm fisheye that my mate uses for creating 360 web panos. Creat fun, real lens lust for that one now...
This was taken on top of Table Mountain in Cape Town, 10 minutes before the sun went below the horizon. It is looking towards the Cape of Good Hope. So that is the Atlantic ocean on the right and the Indian on the left. Only PP was to crop.
Comments welcome.

Did you get one just after the sun went down 'cause I think the sun is bit much in this one, too overpowering.

:( Sadly no, they close the mountain before sunset. So no chance of getting one when it was down.

How does one close a mountain? :)

Wonderful shot; something very different.

Gary it is "table" mountain. They remove the table cloth push the chairs in and it's closed!

Actually we were on the last cable car that went down that evening. Once the last cable car has gone the only way to get down is walk the very very steep track that is dangerous in daylight. Added to that the chances of getting mugged after dark in Cape Town and this really is one mountain that does close down at night :)

How do they close a mountain? We used to have a Premier (Joh) who reckoned he could move them

Sweep up under the rocks too, no doubt!

Thanx Mal, Sounds like a great pl;ace to visit, and the cable car is exactly the way I like to do my mountain climbing. :)

Ah yes, I remember. He'd lift them up and place those brown paper bags full of cash under them, as I recall.

:)

Great photo. Just shows everyone what a fisheye was invented for. :)

This is a great shot, sun and all. The only thing better would be the actual experience of being able to stand at that spot and take it all in. It is on my list of overseas places to visit.

Cheers

Matt
