Trying out the macro lens. (3 images 360K)

I've got a cheapie macro (Sigma 70-300mmD) but I'm sort of having fun playing it.

What I've learnt so far is

1) Use a tripod
2) Spend more than $30 on the next tripod
3) The framing is different between the viewfinder and the final shot

Anyway, I'd be pleased to hear someone say something nice .......

I like the comps on the second 2, but there all look a bit OOF and with the 300mm at f5.6 you got very little DOF, so maybe try stopping down a bit to f16 the get more DOF.

Macro stuff is really fascinating huh. Once you see the intricate details of tiny critters and flower construction, you look at those things differently.
